Spring Forward

February is my fake it till I make it month.  No matter what I do my energy continues to plummet during the month, I just hold on for the first breath of spring.  And now thankfully March is here and I can feel life returning to my brain and body.

To make the most of it, and get myself back on track, I’ve been shifting things up in all aspects of my life – sloughing off the sluggish energy.

A few things to try if you are in the same boat:

Yoga: Prana Mudra to stimulate energy – touch right pinky and ring fingers to right thumb, touch left pinky and ringer fingers to left thumb.  Change something about your practice, the day, the time of day, take a different class, change the focus, and most of all focus on breathing in fresh energy.

Life: Seize any warm spell and spend a few moments outside, close your eyes, feel the sun, and smell the air.  Do one thing differently, rearrange a room, create space for a project you want to start, have lunch with a friend you haven’t seen, try a new recipe, go somewhere in your town you have never been like an art gallery or museum.   

Business:  Change your physical space, even if it’s just changing a picture and reorganizing your desk.  Change the structure of your day, week, and meetings.  Have a meaningful conversation with your team, or if you don’t have a team with someone inspiring, about what’s next.  Look for fresh ideas that will inspire and revitalize your business momentum.

Notice the aspects of your practice, life, and work that are stagnant, small changes can totally shift the energy.
