Take a Breath for Peace

The anger monster lives in all of us.  News reports speak of people who commit violence as different.  Just as people who commit violent acts see their victims as different.  We are all the same, rage is but a heartbeat.   How do we know which of us will explode next?

Through science we know that everything in the universe is energy, that matter is energy bound together.  We are energy, bound together on this planet.  The ripples of the energy we each create reach farther and effect more people than ever before.

We are aware, we can make a choice and shift the energy of our planet away from violence and toward peace.  Peace is not the responsibility of someone else, it’s our responsibility, my responsibility, your responsibility.  If we want it we have to create it.

The breath is a place to begin, notice it, watch it, feel it, let it wash over you.  Practice.  When you are in traffic, when someone insults you, when someone’s views are the complete opposite of yours, when stress has you at your breaking point, when you feel that fire rise inside of you, breathe.  Teach someone else to breathe.  Breathe together.  Be aware.  It’s a place to begin.
